The city of Malibu is located 30 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles and consists of a 21 mile strip of prime California coastline. Malibu is famous for its warm, sandy beaches, and for being the home of many Hollywood movie stars. Santa Monica, about 18 miles east of Malibu, has been a famed resort town since the early 20th century and is still famous for its storied Santa Monica Pier.
