Twenty years ago, we opened one store in San Francisco's Mission District.
There were no big-box aisles. No overwhelmed parents wandering alone, unsure where to turn. Just a team that knew the product inside and out — and actually cared about the family standing in front of them.
That simple idea — that a baby and home store could be a place of genuine care, not just a transaction — became the foundation of everything we've built since.

From One Store to a Community

That idea grew into 5 stores across the country, and along the way, we've had the privilege of serving hundreds of thousands of families — from their very first prenatal visit, through nursery planning, registries, first birthdays, and everything in between.

Behind every one of those moments is a team that takes training seriously. Our staff are trained in car seat safety, babywearing, and infant sleep, because we believe expertise is part of care. And every shelf in our stores is curated — a hand-selected assortment from 250+ ethically made brands, chosen because we'd recommend them to our own families.

Practice With Care. Show Up Ready.

That's not just a tagline — it's the mantra our team lives by every single day, in every store, with every customer interaction. It's shaped how we hire, how we train, and how we've grown.
And it's exactly what we want to bring to more communities.

Opening the Next Chapter

Today, we're excited to share that Aldea Home & Baby is officially franchising.
This wasn't a decision we made overnight. We've spent the past year building the infrastructure to do it right:
  • A proven store format, refined over two decades and five locations
  • A full training and operations playbook, covering everything from staff certification to daily operations
  • Vendor relationships with brands families already trust — the same curated assortment that's made Aldea a destination, not just a store
  • A culture rooted in our founding mantra: Practice with care. Show up ready.

What This Means for New Communities

If you've ever walked into an Aldea store and felt like the team truly understood what you needed — that's the experience we're bringing to new neighborhoods.

Franchising Aldea isn't about opening another baby store. It's about bringing that same sense of community, expertise, and care to families who don't yet have a place like this near them.

Is This You?

We're looking for entrepreneurs who share our values — people who care as much about the community they're building as the business itself. No prior experience in baby or home retail is required. What matters most is the same thing that's mattered from day one: showing up with care.
Know someone who'd be a great fit? Or curious whether this could be you?
We'd love to talk. Learn more at aldeafranchise.com.
